How to Get Out from "Under the Gun" Part I

A couple of weeks ago Michael was in hot pursuit. First he was pursuing a prison guard who had contracted the killing of his girlfriend, Fi in prison; second he was in pursuit of the killer of the prison guard; third he was in pursuit of freeing Sam after being kidnapped by a deranged woman, Rebecca; fourth he was in pursuit of a package for Fi in prison to stop some "sisters" from killing her; and finally he was in pursuit of Anson.

Fi was dealing with a life threatening situation in prison, trying to survive long enough to be freed after being framed for murder.

Sam was trying to survive long enough for Michael to rescue him from the grips of Rebecca. Why she kidnapped him I'll never understand. Kidnapping Sam would never stop Michael from pursuing her. It would only make him more determined to catch her.

Madeline, Michael's mother, was trying to obtain a package for Fi to give to Ayn, (Anything You Need) the prison entrepreneur, in prison to get the cell block raided. Since Michael was in the Everglades and time was of the essence she was going to need to try and get it herself. The package had to be delivered to the prison before 9am the next morning.

Part I

How to capture a target in a building

Michael had just returned from his first visit to see Fi in prison. He was packing when Madeline, his mother, stopped by to find out more about his prison visit. He told Madeline that "she was tired, she was scared, she wasn't eating enough, and someone was trying to kill her."

As Michael was leaving prison, a prisoner pointed that he had dropped something. He looked down and saw a tossed piece of paper on the floor. He told the prisoner it wasn't his, but she insisted it was so he picked it up. It contained a note, a name and address. Fi was in trouble. Someone from the outside wanted her dead. It was most likely Anson who was threatening a prison guard into killing her. The prison guard,  Matt Sturges, lived in the Everglades and Michael, Sam and Jesse were heading out to stop him.

After a four hour road trip, they finally arrived at his home. Sam was calculating how long the job was going to take. He had dinner plans with his girlfriend, Elsa. It was his turn to take her out.

"When you need to capture a target in a building one of the most effective techniques is known as "the hammer and anvil." First your team surrounds the structure sealing off all exits, then you enter from all points at once, quickly and quietly. The goal is to find your target fast enough to avoid a standoff or a fire fight. It's hard to interrogate your target if he's dealing with a gunshot wound. Of course, it's even harder if he's dead."

The three of them had entered Sturges' home through separate doors only to find him dead on the floor. Sam didn't meet up with Michael and Jesse in the living room so Michael called out to let him know the guy was dead. Sam didn't answer.

As it turned out, unbeknownst to the team, Rebecca, a rouge CIA agent under the control of Anson, had Sam at gunpoint. She had apparently killed Sturges at the request of Anson and was trying to leave when the three of them showed up.

This lead to Part II.
