How to Obtain "Hot Property" Part I

A couple of years ago Michael was juggling three ops at one time sharing with me many spy tips, as usual, that he used to successfully bring them to a conclusion.

The first op involved finding information about Justin Walsh from the DOD who had stolen a Bible containing the decryption code for a NOC list of the people who had burned Michael two years earlier.

This second involved finding the location of an auction and acquiring 5 million dollars to gain a seat at the table.

The third op involved stealing back a toxic weapon from a corrupt Venezuelan diplomat for a thief who was blackmailing Michael's girlfriend, Fi. This wasn’t the first time he encountered this thief, Natalie. Years earlier Natalie had stolen a journal from our good friend Barry who is a money launderer.

I will share these spy tips with you now.

Getting intel from a fusion center

Michael and Sam went to the local police station, Miami Metro Police Department, where Michael was planning on breaking into the fusion center. Michael sat fidgeting with his sunglasses.

Sam wasn't too sure this was the "right move", so he asked Michael. His comment was, "To find the list of the people who burned me I would break into the Pentagon." Sam was leery, he wasn't sure Michael would get what he needed.

"The guy who stole it, Justin Walsh, worked with the DOD. The Fusion Center monitors the communications of anyone with a job in national security. They'll have something."

Michael was going in using a cover id, "Elias Schmidt" -- his friends called him Eli -- Shady Glade Neighborhood Watch. He had a meeting with Officer Peppy Owen, Community Outreach. His office was one floor below the fusion center database. Once Michael got beyond security he was on his own.

Sam reminded him, "No action guy stuff, okay? Your gunshot wound is going to be a little tender." As Michael groaned from putting on his cap, he told him, "It's not tender, Sam."

How to get information quickly about anyone who has a job in national security:

"National Intelligence Agencies and local law enforcement offices work together more often than you might think. Most metropolitan police stations have an office called a “fusion center” where classified intel is collected in one place. It’s a great resource if you need information fast. Unfortunately if does involve breaking into a police station to do so. Fusion center monitors anyone with a job in national security."

How to break into a NOC room in a police station:

First you need two cover ids with identification and the name of a homicide detective at the police station. Have one id that shows you are a member of a community organization such as the Shady Glade Neighborhood Watch. You will use the name on this id to schedule a meeting with someone in Community Outreach and to show at the station when gaining a pass to get through security.

The other id will be used after you’ve pass security in the event you’re stopped on your way to the fusion center. You can tell him you’re seeing such-and-such from homicide.

Second, schedule a meeting with Community Outreach under the first cover id.

Third, purchase and modify a cheap pair of sunglasses to use as a rack and tension tool from a lock pick set.

Forth, ask a friend to find the location of the NOC room at the police station -- this will house the "fusion center" database.

Fifth, have a flash drive in your pocket when you go.

Sixth, have this close friend wait in a get-away car so you can leave the scene quickly.

Seventh, it wouldn’t hurt to have some spy music playing in your head to maintain a sense of drama but a calm demeanor.

Now for the execution!

Start the spy music playing in your mind and align your rhythm to the music.

“Because undercover cops and confidential informants don’t like their pictures taken only the public areas of police stations are kept under surveillance.  So once you’re past the lobby the only cameras you have to avoid are the ones taking mug shots. Get caught with a lock pic set in a police station and you’ve got problems. A pair of cheap sunglasses is less suspicious and just about as effective. Modify them in advance and you can use the stems as a rake and tension tool. And if you get caught, you’re just a guy with some busted sunglasses.”

Once you get into the elevator, remove the sunglasses to avoid suspicion and nonchalantly hide them behind your back.

Use your homemade rack and tension tool to quickly gain access to the NOC room.

What to do once you're in the NOC room:

Type quickly, search for the individual that has the information you need,

keep a watch for outside detection, and download the security information onto the flash drive.

And most importantly, don’t forget to take the flash drive with you. Be sure to close the door to the NOC room behind you.

How to leave a police station when they are looking for an intruder, that's you:

Once Community Outreach realizes you are loose in the police station, they will lock down the exits, do a full id check on anyone leaving to try to find you. So snatch a file folder,

glance through it, and act like you belong there to avoid suspicion. Then ditch the file folder.

Quickly find an office with outside windows then assess the outside situation. Don’t forget to keep that spy music playing in your head, timing must be perfect, and keep a level head.

Break a window with a chair, grab a police jacket and wait for a rookie officer to enter.

“Police officers uphold the chain of command as sacred. Act like you’re in charge and someone new to the force won’t dare question your authority.” Let the rookie come to conclusion that the intruder broke the window telling the officer “That guy is out of his mind!” Instruct the rookie “Rookie are you deaf? Call all units outside. Go.”

After the officer leaves, exit the room and make your way to the outside maintaining an authoritative manner. Once outside give barking orders to the officers “Check out back.” Check the side.” until you reach the get-away car continuing to keep that spy music in your mind the entire time.

Don’t be surprised if you friend waiting for you is feeling a little agitated by this time from the scene you’ve created.

Once you get into the car tell your friend “Time to go.” But don’t be surprised if he informs you, you’re the reason he drinks. “Did I ever tell you you’re the reason I drink, Mickey?”  Just smile like you understand, knowing this isn’t the first time you’ve given him a few more gray hairs.
